According to the Koran

The demons were created by God and also face the same judgment as man. The Djinn are both good and evil.

"I created the Djinn and mankind only that they might worship Me. I demand no livelihood of them, nor do I ask that they should feed Me. God alone is the Munificent Giver, the Mighty One, the Invincible. Those that now do wrong shall meet their predecessors' doom. Let them not challenge Me to hurry it on. Woe then betide the unbelievers when the promised day arrives!" The Winds 51:End

"When the sky splits asunder, and reddens like a rose or stained leather (which of your Lord's blessings would you deny?), on that day neither man nor djinnee will be asked about his sins. Which of your Lord's blessings would you deny?The Merciful 55:19+

The Djinn are capable of having sex with women.

"Therein are bashful virgins whom neither man nor jinnee will have touched before. Which of your Lord's blessings would you deny?" The Merciful 55:52+

"Dark-eyed virgins, sheltered in their tents (which of your Lord's blessings would you deny?), whom neither man nor jinnee will have touched before. Which of your Lord;s blessings would you deny?" The Merciful 55:66+

Satan is a djinnee! He refused to worship man at God's direction according to the Koran. It seems to be implied here that when an angel falls he becomes a djinnee. This story also shows up in the Haggada.

When We said to the angels; ' Prostrate yourselves before Adam,' all prostrated themselves except Satan who was a djinnee disobedient to his Lord. Would you then serve him and his offspring as your masters rather than Myself, despite their enmity towards you? A sad substitute the wrongdoers have chosen!" The Cave 18:38+

"We created man from dry clay, from black molded loam, and before Satan from smokeless fire. Your Lord said to the angels: 'I am creating man from dry clay, from black molded loam. When I have fashioned him and breathed of My spirit into him, kneel down and prostrate yourselves before him.'

The angels, one and all, prostrated themselves, except Satan. He refuses to prostrate himself as the others did.

'Satan,' said God, 'why do you not prostrate yourself?'

He replied: 'I will not bow to a mortal whom You created of dry clay, of black molded loam.'

'Get you hence,' said God, 'you are accursed. The curse shall be on you till Judgment-day.'

'Lord,' said Satan, 'reprieve me till the Day of Resurrection.'

He answered: 'You are reprieved till the Appointed Day.'

'Lord,' said Satan, 'since You have thus seduced me, I will tempt mankind on earth: I will seduce them all, except those of who are your faithful servants.'

He replied: 'This is My straight path. You shall have no power over My servants, only sinners who follow you. They are all destined for Hell. It has seven gates, and through each gate they shall come in separate bands. But the righteous shall dwell among gardens and fountains; in peace and safety they shall enter them. We shall remove all hatred from their hearts, and they shall take their ease on couches face to face, a band of brothers. Toil shall not weary them, nor shall they ever be driven out.' Al-Hijr 15:32+

Muslim Comment

"Muslims do not believe in fallen angels. Angels are Good, they do the will of Allah, and they have no choice but to obey His commands. The humans and djinns have the ability to disobey."

Satan was a djinn, not an angel. He was amongst the angels, but he was made of a different substance. He was made of fire free of smoke. The angels on the other hand, are made of light. Though amongst the angels, Satan was always a djinn, and had the choice to obey or disobey. His being a djinn was not a result of disobedience. He was a djinn, whether obedient or disobedient, and Allah know best."

We discovered that Christianity and Islam have several things in common:

1. We both believe and worship only One God. They call him Allah and we call Him Father God or Jehovah or Yahweh.

2. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary--Mary is a virgin. Muslims call Jesus Isah Ben Mariam--Jesus the son of Mary.

3. The Koran teaches that Muhammad and Jesus are both prophets.

4. Muhammad united the wandering Arabs under one God, Allah, and delivered them of polythiesm.

5. Isah Ben Mariam, Jesus, is a prophet and his special ministry was deliverance, healing, resurrection, and sacrifice.

6. Djinns are the spirits talked about in the Bible and they can be good or evil, like the lying spirit that was sent to Ahab. 2 Cronicles 20:22.

7. Both Christians and Muslims believe in the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was a Prophet sent by God to teach the Gospel and deliver His people according to Muhammad.

"We believe in God and that which has been revealed to us; in what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes; to Moses and Jesus and the other prophets by their Lord.

We make no distinction among any of them, and to Him we submit."

Koran: The Cow 2:136.

Muhammad said that there should be no distinction between any of the prophets or Jesus and I am sure he meant to include himself!
